AWS Finland October Meetup - Sponsored by Gofore
October brought us to Gofore’s office on Urho Kekkosen katu in central Helsinki. Gofore is one of those companies that has been a steady presence in the Finnish tech community, and having them sponsor an AWS meetup felt like a natural fit. Doors opened at 17:30 with the agenda kicking off around 18:15.
72 attendees filled the space for a strong lineup of talks. Rolf Koski from the AWS UG Finland opened with his crowd-favorite “New and noteworthy in AWS” session, getting everyone caught up on the latest launches. Anna Ruokonen from Gofore then shared insights on the cloud journey in a government agency – a topic that always sparks interesting discussion given the unique constraints and requirements of public sector cloud adoption. Henri Nousiainen, Head of AI/ML for AWS Nordics, closed the evening with a forward-looking talk on new trends in AI and ML, giving the audience a preview of where things are heading.
The mix of community updates, public sector reality, and cutting-edge AI/ML made for a well-rounded evening. At this point in 2022, the user group had built up a solid rhythm – monthly events, strong attendance, a growing list of companies eager to host. That kind of momentum takes effort to maintain, but the community was making it easy by consistently showing up and engaging.
Thanks to Gofore for being excellent hosts. The autumn meetup season was well underway.
