AWS Finland September Meetup - Sponsored by Siili

Two meetups in September – why not? Siili Solutions hosted the second September event at their Helsinki office on Ruoholahdenkatu 21. Doors opened at 17:30 and the evening wrapped up around 19:30, making it a compact but well-paced event.

58 people came out for this one, which is respectable for the second event of the month. Jari Rantala opened the evening with a welcome, after which I took the stage with a “New and noteworthy from AWS” session to get everyone up to speed on the latest service launches and feature updates. The main talk came from Frans Ojala and Edris Saberi, who presented on how Siili approaches AWS competency development internally – socialising expertise across the organization and translating that into value for their customers. It was a refreshing angle, focusing less on specific technology and more on building a culture of cloud excellence.

One thing I appreciate about having different companies host is that each brings their own perspective on how they use AWS. Siili’s angle as a digital transformation consultancy meant the discussions leaned practical – how do you actually build and grow AWS skills across an organization? That is the kind of content the community values because it addresses the people side of cloud, not just the tech side.
