AWS User Group Finland February Meetup at Accenture

AWS User Group Finland February Meetup at Accenture

The February meetup landed at Accenture’s Helsinki office on Aleksanterinkatu, with doors opening at 17:00 and content starting at 17:30. The turnout was strong with 65 people filling the space. These early-year meetups tend to draw a good crowd as people get back into the rhythm after the holidays.

Vijay Kodam, Principal Engineer at Nokia, opened the presentations with his first impressions of EKS Auto mode – a timely topic given how many teams in the room were running Kubernetes workloads on AWS. Then Juha Takala, Data and AI Tech Lead for Finland, and Emil Nyback, Senior Architect, both from Accenture, presented the Accenture Technology Vision 2025, giving the audience a look at where Accenture sees the industry heading. Niklas Liljestrand, Senior AWS Technology Architect at Accenture, closed out the talks with a presentation on infrastructure as GenAI code, exploring how generative AI is starting to change the way we think about IaC.

The networking between and after the presentations is where a lot of the real value happens. You end up having sidebar conversations about problems you are working on, and someone in the room has almost always dealt with something similar. That is the magic of a user group this active.

Good evening all around. The mix of Nokia’s hands-on EKS experience and Accenture’s forward-looking perspectives made for a well-rounded agenda, and the Finnish AWS community continues to grow with both familiar faces and new people showing up each month.
