AWS Finland March Meetup at Nordcloud
March brought us to Nordcloud, an IBM Company, for the meetup on March 6th. Doors opened at 17:00 and the program kicked off at 17:30. We had opened registration back on February 20th, and 64 people made it out to their Pohjoisesplanadi office for another solid evening of AWS talks and community networking.
Petri Kallberg, Principal Architect for Platform Engineering Services at Nordcloud, opened the talks with a presentation called VPC Dealers, diving into the networking side of AWS that underpins everything else. Then Ishani Bhardwaj, Data Scientist at Netlight, followed with a talk on agentic RAG on AWS Bedrock, sharing lessons learned from building retrieval-augmented generation systems with an agentic approach. It was her first time presenting at the user group, and she delivered a polished and well-received talk.
The presentations sparked good discussion, and there was a nice mix of experience levels in the room. It is always good to see senior architects and people just getting started with AWS in the same space, asking questions and sharing perspectives.
The after-event mingling went on well past the official 21:00 end time, which is always a sign of a successful meetup. People were genuinely enjoying the conversations and not in a rush to leave despite the March darkness outside.
