AWS re:Invent 2025 Watch Party

For those of us not in Las Vegas, the next best thing is watching the re:Invent keynote with fellow AWS enthusiasts. Nitor hosted the watch party at their Aleksanterinkatu office in Helsinki, with several community partners involved in putting the evening together. Registration ran through a separate form this time, and 33 of us gathered to follow the live broadcast from Las Vegas.

Watch parties have a charm of their own. The collective reactions when a big announcement drops, the immediate sidebar discussions about what a new service means, and the shared excitement of the moment make it far better than watching alone at home.

The smaller group size compared to regular meetups made for more intimate conversations. Everyone had opinions on the announcements, and the discussions were deeper and more technical than they sometimes get at larger events. With 33 people, you could actually talk to most of the room.

Pizza, drinks, and real-time AWS news. A solid way to close out the 2025 meetup calendar. The recap event in the new year will give us a chance to digest everything properly, but there is nothing like the live experience of watching it unfold together.
